Yank – “Too Glam” (NEW MUSIC!)

We are pleased to share with you the first single from Yank, a new Charlotte rock band. This song ‘Too Glam’ has absolutely no frills, and is all the while laced with a raw yet seductive crunch that is reminiscent of early releases from beloved generational acts. Think before grunge was actually called grunge, i.e. ‘Bleach’ or ‘Louder Than Love’, blahblahblah the 90’s were sOoOoOo SiCk yo.

Singer/guitarist Christian Spence had this to say on this project and what went in to writing ‘Too Glam’…

“The idea was to start a straight up rock band. No genres, no labels, just straight up unapologetic rock. For this song, lyrically I bounced around with a few different hooks, but ended up on the “too glam to give a damn” lyric after hearing it said on TV. The song is about idolizing celebrities, more specifically the rockstars I grew up with. It’s the irony of realizing how fucked up and destructive these people are, but still wishing you were one of them.”

This song rips hard. Check it out below…

Yank is Christian Spence, bassist Hayden Nease, and drummer Brandon Clayton. Stay tuned for the band’s full EP to be released later this summer. Keep up with the band on Instagram @yanktheband.

Yank will be making their Charlotte live debut this Wednesday at Oso Skatepark with Venezuelan punks Zeta and local young guns Acne…
