We Went to Hopscotch 2017

Every year the city of Raleigh, North Carolina hosts a festival, unlike many others. Hopscotch Music Festival is different from your typical South East music festivals. It’s one of the few where you can see a doom band play in a dimly lite venue then run to see a flawlessly choreographed R&B set in a packed out amphitheater. Hopscotch humbly has it all. From midday drinking parties to late night noise band sets, Hopscotch never disappoints. With some of the best lineups on a regular yearly basis, it puts in a good word for NC, something that we need more of.  Fueled by Jimmy John’s sandwiches and six dollars Bud Lights, the following photos are from notable sets I was able to see.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre

Late Bloomer
Mount Eerie
Zack Mexico
Run the Jewels (Killer Mike)
Run the Jewels (El-P)
King Woman
Mourning Cloak
Future Islands

Lee Fields & The Expressions
The Afghan Whigs
Flock of Dimes

Big Boi & Sleepy Brown
